There is a fight between two wolves going on inside everyone. One stands for all good things and the other, all that is evil. Which one will win? The one that you feed.
The trick to this riddle is that the addition and subtraction are done at the wrong times to misdirect your thinking. Each of the 3 friends paid $9, not $10, and as far as the friends are concerned, they paid $27 for the night. But the manager said that they were charged only $25(which is the amount he has in his possesion) and when you add the $3 returned with the $2 kept by the waiter, you come up with $30. It is all because we have stupid criminals who can't work less than an extra half hour to make friggin two dollars.
but you gotta love watching math majors stroke out over this one
i've seen a few nerdys at school literally almost snap from this one and it's because of how people don't get the concept of that you have to do the math a certain way to get the system to work
if i'm not sounding coherrent right now it's because i'm like really tired and just written a paper from hell
