earliertoday i was on google looking at some pictures that i might want for my sig, well i didnt find anything so just for fun i searched wolves on image search and there was this one picture that i clicked on that took me to this one website and on it there were a bunch more pictures. now these pictures were made using some kinda imaging program. Now my question is this.... is it posible for me to learn how to use one of those imaging programs to create my own game like graphics?

Longer answer: Yes, but I don't know anything about that, and most likely, it will require some experience to do. You'll have to ask Mura or Snake about that, I'm afraid.
ok, well ill send one of them a private message about it or mabe one of them will see this thread.

What type of graphics are you looking to do? If you're talking about old sprite-based stuff, then all you HAVE to have is paint. Here's a sprite that I started on in paint:
If you're wanting more advanced looking stuff, then there's several option. GIMP is a free program that has a lot more features than paint, but it's harder to use. I don't have any personal experience with it, so I can't really say. I use Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and Photoshop CS2 9.0, and they have ALOT of features. Here's some of the capabilities of Photoshop:
As you can see, there's alot out there. If you want Photoshop, you have two choices: A) Pay $500, because that is what it costs, or B) Download it from bittorrent (free but illegal).
Betcha can't guess which way I got it :)
If you're talking about 3d stuff, I can't help you. Photoshop is VERY complicated for anyone who's never used it, so your best bet is to look for tutorials online.

That would be 3D. I'll tell you now...without some form of guidance, training, or dedication, you aren't gonna be able to figure out a 3D modeling program (I've tried, I didn't get very far).
However, if you aren't deterred, then I'll at least give you a helping hand in finding a 3D modeling program.
FOR FREE:
XSI Basic - This was used to make the character models for Half-Life 2, so it's VERY capable. HIGH Learning curve, however.
Milkshape - Never used it, but I'm pretty sure it can do stuff like those wolves. However, once again, I'm unsure.
PAY FOR:
3dsMax - A very good program, although a bit difficult. You can do entire landscapes with this.
Maya - Another very good program, it's used in many CG Hollywood movies (stuff like Toy Story).

i wouldn't mind getting into that stuff myself (when i have time) and when i get my next desktop in like two years or so i'll look into that because i wouldn't mind doing some stuff for fun that's actually creative for a change
