You know, I remember back in the day when we were running the Jedi Knight clan forum we used to have a review section where we would write mini-reviews of the games we play. We should do that again. So I guess this thread is dedicated to posts trying to convince others to play (or stay away from!) certain games. I don't feel like typing one up right now, I'll do one later. I'm sure Snake wants to share some of his feelings towards his favorite games. If anyone wants to do this, just keep in mind not to let your personal feelings toward the game affect your rating too much. For example, don't give Kingdom Hearts a bad review if you just don't like Disney.....But don't go easy on the games either. If it's crappy, let us know how crappy it is. Tell us if it made you so mad that you kicked your cat out of a 4 story window (Not literally, hopefully...). Just give us your honest (Hopefully, unbiased, otherwise we will laugh at you) opinion. And hey, you might even post a review on something you got from this site, like a game or movie we made or something.
This section is mainly for reviews, but somone should make an I hate this game section. Oh, and I found Fable to be rather intruiging, but lacking greatly. Was it worth the Xbox? Maybe not, but then again, I still think Microsoft should've stayed out of the console business and stuck to computer geeks. But I think that American made games are good too....I've seen some pretty crappy stuff come from Japan.....
Exactly, Henshin a go-go baby! I find that all american made games are either fps or sports-requiring little thought and hardly any imagination. Exactly like americans... I'm not proud to be american if you couldn't tell.

yeah america is begininng to stagnate. i think that we need something to reinspire creativity in our country. for starters lets get rid of reality tv. that will successfully retard the mental growth of an entire generation of people.

Ok.............you guys got off topic but i'll post something thats at least on topic......One of the games I got recently was Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life. It's really good especialy if you like RPG( Roll Playing Games ) games. If I had to rate it on family friendliness i would give it a 9 1/2 out of 10. Even though it's a video game you can actually learn something from playing it (if you pay attention to whats happening and whats being said on the game). Another really good game is The Legend of Zelda The Windwaker. On family friendliness it recieves an 8-10 because of the fighting but thats what makes it a fun game.

I too am a big fan of the Harvest Moon games. They're re-releasing Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life and HM: Friends of Mineral Town for girls soon. (Same game, but you're a girl and therefore marry guys instead...)
But Jena, if you liked A Wonderful Life, you'd really like Friends of Mineral Town for the GBA. If you don't have a GBA, you can play the original Back to Nature for the PS. (If you don't have a PS...well....yeah...whatcha gonna do...) I'm assuming you got the male version...I haven't heard of Natsume releasing it for girls, but I might be wrong. If that's the case, then please correct me.
no ur right as far as i no but i didnt no they made a girls verson of Harvest Moon. hmmmm.........i'll have to get that.

You guys were saying that American games were no good. Well, I went back and played KOTOR 2, and it was pretty good. That was a while back, though.....I didn't really like how it played towards the end. But just recently, I played the original Knight of the Old Republic.......COMPLETELY blew me away! It has great replay value, and it's story is awesome. Okay, okay, I admit I'm a little behind on the times. I just recently got an Xbox, so I figured I'd check out what all the hype with KOTOR was about. Anyways, it's a great game. A definite buy for the Star Wars fan.
Oh, and I was just wondering this....it may be just a hunch, but in KOTOR 2, is Mandalore....Canderous from the original KOTOR? Anyone who's played KOTOR know anything about that?
Yeah, Im pretty sure that Mandalore is Canderous. And Im glad you changed your mind about KOTOR...it was almost impossible for me to get you to play it before.
Anyways, on American games, I find that there is still alot of variety out there. Although alot of them ARE FPS games and lack creativity, there are many that are original. You may not think so...but Ive honestly had more enjoyment out of American games than those made in Japan, or anywhere else (and although I focus on graphics sometimes, Im also very big on the story of games).

When I first played KOTOR, I was also playing Fable at the time. And from playing Fable, I got into this "hack-and-slash" gaming mentality....not the best mindset for a strategy RPG like KOTOR.....but anyways, when this kid at school let me borrow KOTOR 2, I tried that out. It had a bit more appeal to me at the time since I didnt have anything other than Halo 2 and Fable on the Xbox at the time.
But after I played KOTOR 2, I was ready for the original again, so I had more of an open mind to it. And whaddya know, it's quite possibly the best Star Wars game out there. I guess sequels aren't as good as the originals....

I just don't see the point in the Harvest Moon games. I mean, I used to play it, but now I'm a bit too busy living my own life to play someone elses. And besides, we poke fun of Heritage of having rednecks and hicks and having the Future Farmers of America(FFA) yet, we play a game where you are a friggin farmer in the mountains and a crazy mountain man works on your house. Something I never understood, in the ps1 version, if Gotz spends all day cutting down trees, and he has all that wood stacked behind his house,.....WHY THE HECK DOES HE NEED WOOD FROM ME?!?!?! What does he do with all of it? Last time I checked, if you hire someone to build a house, they supply their own wood. Sure, you pay for it, but they go through the hassle of getting it. I dunno, the Harvest Moon series just seems pointless and boring to me.
Ide have to side with mitch on this one i find the HM series fun and enjoyable.
