Martin Luther King Jr. jokes aside, I did recently purchase a Dreamcast off of eBay recently and am waiting for it in the mail. I bought it for Seaman, but had to order that game separately. The Dreamcast came with 5 other games (which is a lie, since 4 discs are the same game).
Anyways, I started this thread because....
A.) I just wanted to announce that for some unknown reason, and
B.) I wanted to know if anyone could help me identify one of the games.
I can tell that four of them are Shenmue (Not sure if "Shenmue Passport" is a separate game or what), but what is the one on the bottom left?
It be called Metropolis Street Racer...not that I knew that, I looked up a list of Dreamcast games. Course, you already know that since I'm talking to you on AIM.
(Sigh) Yeah.....I was hoping for something cool, though. Oh well. I'm getting these games for practically nothing, so I can't really complain. I only bought it for a game with talking fish anyways.
I'm sorry, I'm not trying to offend you, but I was just curious why you bought it over the internet is all. I simply was just curious, I'm not trying to down buying over the internet nor am I trying to be bias toward a store such as Game Haven. I can't help the fact that I'm a cat with a curious personality .
You know what happened to the curious cat, don't you? He got raped.
Anyways, the reason I bought it over the internet was because no place had the game. Just eBay. So I figued "Well, if I'm getting the game on eBay, I might as well get the syetem there, too."
Okay that was messed up, I just typed this post and hit the wrong button on my keyboard so now I have to type it all over again...oh well.
Well Mitch, that was all I wanted to know .
I'm not sure if I'll ever get a Dreamcast simply because most of the games I would be interested in are already re-released on the Gamecube or PS2 as in Resident Evil Code Veronica X's case, but maybe I'll keep an eye out to see if there are any other games on the platform that have not been re-released on the current generation platform such as the Gamecube.
The only reason I bought the system is so I could play Seaman, which I have wanted to play for 6 years. If not for that, I would scoff at the short-lived Dreamcast.
The game is about Leonard Nimoy teaching you how to raise these special fish that a scientist discovered, but never understood. They start out as eggs, but evolve over time. The game itself takes about a month to beat since it's a simulation game.
Anyways, the fish have faces like humans, and can speak English. They have to be meticulously cared for or they will not evolve. They also ask you personal questions about your personal life (i.e. Do you like boys or girls? Are you cheating on your lover? What do you do on the internet?(You can say pornography.))
So yeah, I've been looking at it for 6 years and am finally getting it.
Well Mitch I'm am so going have to see this game. As far as getting together wanna try Friday? I'll try to call you later, but hopefully Aaron will be back by then, but if not then maybe I could come over, whatever it doesn't matter, and if not then better luck next time .
But seriously, if you want to get together this Friday or something I'm completely open, and I will not lie getting together with you or Aaron would be far more preferable than Dallas who not only does Trek night, but I forgot to mention is where my bad habits are the worse, and I'm not in the mood for another hang over yet .
Well it would be nice if you could finally come over and at least meet Aaron, he's a really great friend of mine, and as I've said before I love the guy like a brother. He's a big Zelda fan, and I'm sure that you'll hook up just fine. I'll probably go to Mum's this weekend since I didn't this past one because she was watching my grandmother due to her having hip surgery.
Maybe we could finally hang out and stuff, but it's whatever you wanna do, like I said a few posts ago, I'm free so it won't matter to me either way. I may hang out with Mum on Friday at the Springbrook facility since she's there this week, and that's a small hop and skip from your house so whatever you wanna do, and she doesn't get off till 17:00 so you would probably be home by then, but anyway it's up to you .
I got the Dreamcast today. It came with more games than were listed! It came with the original Sonic Adventure as well! To make things better, Seaman came today too. As if that weren't enough, the system also came with three memory cards, one of them having that feature where it can switch over to another side, so in essence FOUR memory cards! And an extra controller? You spoil me.
Bad things.
Sonic Adventure doesn't work. Seaman didn't come with the microphone. The game won't play without it. I can't find it anywhere on the internet. The only choice I seem to have is to buy another Seaman game with a microphone, since I can't find the mic separately. Shenmue looks good at first, but the voice actors make the stars of Resident Evil sound like Shakespearian actors. I could make an Omelet during the loading times at startup, and the games that do work are so scratched up that it looks like someone ice skated over them. (Did I mention they came in a ziplock bag?)
I played it some today, Leonard Nimoy told me that my frequent visits to the tank are unnecessary....but I go anyways. Those little guys worry me sometimes. One of them actually killed another one for food. I was expecting that, though.
