hey guys, for those of you that know a little 'bout me know that i love the music from kotor one and two. now you also know that there isn't an official soundtrack for the game (which sucks)
well i found a way to pirate the music from the game(s) so you can listen to them and burn a cd and do whatever else you do with music files
well first you have to have the pc version of the games, and then you of course install them on your hard drive.
now you go to the file called stream music, and then you copy and paste the music files in that folder to another folder you want them in. now you'll notice that they are in .wav format, but they are compresed into something called miles compression wav files. which means if you try to play the files with winamp, windows media player, etc.. all you'll hear is static. all you need to do is download some software (miles sound tools) so you can decompress the files to regular .wav files. i did this last night with my pc version of the first kotor, and i'm listening to the music right now as i'm typing this
okay i'm trying to google the site i went to last night to find a link with some step by step instructions on how to do this
now i don't have to pc version of kotor 2 so i obviously haven't tried that yet, but hey you gotta love it
pretty much for the music just google miles sound tools, and then you can decompress the sound files, but you have to do it one at a time
okay i'm having trouble finding the site i went to last night because i don't remember what keywords i used on google
i'll try to find the site later
but i thought that i would pass this little tidbit on to you all

Someone needs to get the music from Onderon's palace in KotOR 2 for us. That music never gets old and would make for awesome FFA map music on JK2 or JA.....not that I play that anymore.
well if we ever like get together in real life, i'll just burn a few copies on data disks so you can load them on your compys
yeah i'm thinking about when i get like an extra twenty or thirty dollars of just springing for the pc version of kotor 2 so i can rip the music from that game too. i love the kotor music personally i like the theme from ahto city so i loop it alot in winamp
