Here it is. This thread is dedicated to the plays that Alcoa High School performs. Right now, we're doing a play called "Larceny and Lace" (Originally "Larceny and Old Lace"), a farce on the classic play "Arsenic and Old Lace".
The set play date is May 13th and 16th at the Alcoa High School Auditorium. We haven't exactly worked out an exact time of day, but it'll get posted when we do.
Anyways, there just needed to be a thread about this. Come see it if you've got the time.
I also want to add that this will be a good performance its a funny comady and Mitch plays the role as the judge and I play the rold as Nurse widgit.Its gunna be great.

I'm trying something different for this play. I noticed that some people just act out their roles and let too much of their real personalities leak through. Well, thats ok, and I've done that before, but this time, I'm changing gears and trying something different. I'm using a southern accent for this play. I'm shooting for something along the lines of Colonel Sanders of Foghorn Leghorn.
Our director, Dr. Clark has gotten on to some people because she realized that they were just doing the same characters over and over in each play they did. She wanted them to try something different......and it's not working so far.......But, in their defense, it's kind of Dr. Clark's fault. I mean, she was the one who gave them the same roles over and over again.
Iam taking a diffrent affect on my character too. Seeing in the last play my character was a 14 or 15 year old girl. This new character Nurse Widgit is an older character...Iam going for a rough southern girl with a military attitude.

what in the world? srry vocabulary was nvr my strong point. what is de'ja'vou? is it some new slang or something that ppl r doing? or is it the actual spelling for a word thats pronunciation is Dayjavu? like i said vocabulary has nvr been my strong point so can someone explain that to me plz.

I think its safe to say we are not doing this play......of course. Some people were just really stupid and didnt learn their lines and then when we went to tape everybody just happened to be absent.....

Yeah, Larceny and Lace is done.....I think Dr. Clark knew we weren't going to do it before we did, though......anyways, all we can do now is hope that they either find a replacement fr the good doctor, or start our own AHS Drama Club.
Ur right all we can do is hope. I no one thing i was realy looking forward to seeing Larceny and Lace performed by the AHS drama class. o well, i hope they find a replacement teacher that will let freshmen take drama cause ever since i found out about a drama class being up at the high school i knew right then that i wanted to take it as one of my classes. just in case they don't find a teacher that will let freshmen take drama.............I wish the 2005-2006 AHS drama class luck.

Well Iam against freshmen being in drama...they are too unreliable.....Iam pretty sure alot of people would feel the same freshmen and jocks are the worst on being in Drama just because they wont listen to others and they think they are always right. its a school bored thing that freshman can't take drama.....they have too many other classes to pile up on b4 they can take drama...i think after ur first year of high school ur mentaly ready to take a class like that but u should have to be able to get through the first year of highschool.

If you do, don't do it for the credit. The Drama Team only needs serious people. I am of course talking about retards like Joei Fiegler. He joined just for the credit and I almost killed him.

you know i have someone in my english class who takes drama, but he's a little fruity. oh well, he's still a good guy so yeah i don't know if i would be drama material, having an active imagination is one thing, but being able to perform infront of an audience is another so yeah
